Supplement Label Checker

Check a supplement label before you buy

Use these seven checks to identify whether a supplement label gives you enough information to make a sensible comparison.

  1. Does it state each active ingredient and the amount per serving?
  2. Does it show the serving size and number of servings?
  3. Does it provide a complete ingredient, additive and allergen list?
  4. Are directions, warnings and suitability details visible?
  5. Are manufacturing or quality claims supported by named evidence?
  6. Is independent testing specific and evidenced rather than merely claimed?
  7. Are the marketing claims proportionate and free from miracle promises?

A clear label is not proof that a product is safe, effective or independently verified. Missing information should be checked with the retailer or manufacturer.
