The SlimPulse Standard

Why the SlimPulse Standard exists

The supplement market is crowded with bold packaging and vague quality claims. We use the SlimPulse Standard to explain why a product has been selected, what evidence we have seen and what still needs confirming.

We do not treat phrases such as “premium”, “lab tested” or “high strength” as proof on their own.

Put the framework to work: check any supplement label against our seven-point standard.

What we assess

1. Ingredient form

We identify the forms of vitamins, minerals and active ingredients used. Where one form may differ from another, we make that visible rather than hiding it behind the front-label claim.

2. Quantity and serving clarity

We check whether the label clearly explains the amount per serving, the serving size and the number of servings in the pack. If an important detail is unclear, we say so.

3. Additives and suitability

We review the declared additives, capsule or tablet format, allergens and suitability statements such as vegan or vegetarian.

4. Manufacturing evidence

We look for relevant manufacturing and quality documentation supplied by the brand or manufacturer. Claims are recorded as supplied and are not presented as independently verified unless the evidence supports that wording.

5. Testing evidence

We distinguish between manufacturer quality control, independent sample testing and independent batch testing. These are not the same thing.

6. Value

We consider the usable quantity and cost per serving where the serving information allows a fair calculation. A cheap bottle is not automatically good value, and a higher price is not proof of better quality.

7. Safety and clarity

We check that directions, warnings and suitability information are visible. Food supplements are not substitutes for a varied, balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

Our three assessment labels

SlimPulse Verified

Supporting documentation has been reviewed and the specific verification claim shown on the product page is backed by evidence. This label does not mean that SlimPulse has independently proven every possible attribute of the product.

SlimPulse Selected

The product has passed our initial formulation, label and commercial review, but one or more supplier documents or independent testing records are not yet available to us.

Under Review

We are still assessing the product or gathering important information. We will not present it as verified while that work remains incomplete.

How we keep this honest

  • We state what has been evidenced and what has not.
  • We do not convert manufacturer claims into independent claims.
  • Assessment labels can be changed if new information becomes available.
  • Products may be removed if they no longer meet the standard.
